We are delighted to collaborate with Prof Dr Angelika Nußberger! The current Vice-President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law of the Council of Europe, the so-called Venice Commission, and Director of the Academy for European Human Rights Protection at the University of Cologne will initially accompany the programme until the end of 2022. During this time, the course will be set for the future development of the re:constitution programme. In addition, we will organise a joint re:constitution Seminar in Cologne.

Her active support for re:constitution highlights the importance of our commitment to establishing a transdisciplinary European network on issues of democracy and the rule of law in Europe. We join the re:constitution Fellows, Alumni and network partners in looking forward to enriching debates on developments in constitutional law and human rights protection at the European level.

“I am very pleased to be able to contribute to the further theoretical analysis and, in particular, to the practical implementation of the idea of the rule of law in the member states of the European Union within the framework of the re:constitution program. I think the basic idea of re:constitution, to bring together researchers and practitioners from different countries for an exchange of ideas, is very promising. The rule of law lives through the people who make it a reality”, states Prof Nußberger.
