Informing Media & Public Debate
re:constitution works closely with journalists to make complex legal developments accessible, timely, and relevant to wider audiences. From fielding real-time media queries to producing public-facing explainers, re:constitution supports a more informed and evidence-based public debate.

At the heart of the programme is a vibrant, cross-sectoral network. From peer-led Fellow Talks and exchanges to regional civil society gatherings, re:constitution is creating space for collaboration, learning, critical and academic reflections as well as action.

Fostering comprehensive and interdisciplinary debates and exchanges
Based on a linkage between academia and practice, re:constitution contributes to academic, public and policy debates and the development of relevant questions and issues around rule of law and democracy in Europe by engaging Fellows and Alumni. Among others, debates evolved around
Defending constitutional justice and safeguarding the rule of law in times of populism and backsliding;
The rule of law in relation to timely questions of digitalism and climate change ;
EU budget conditionality and other mechanisms to protect the rule of law;
Extraordinary or extralegal responses? Covid-19 and the rule of law in the EU;
The legitimacy of institutions of liberal democracy;
