In October 2021, we welcome the third generation of re:constitution Fellows. Besides working on their research projects during their individual ‘stages’ at institutions of research and practice across Europe, the Fellows come together for three Fellows' Exchange Meetings throughout the academic year. The Berlin event from 26 to 29 October 2021 marks their first personal meeting. Although the pandemic is far from over, we have learned to live with the virus and now feel confident enough to return to the roots of the re:constitution programme: facilitating personal exchange of scholars and practitioners from all over Europe.
The first Fellows' Exchange Meeting focuses on the state of fundamental rights in Europe and how their protection is linked to safeguarding the rule of law. In various interactive sessions, the Fellows have the opportunity to engage with experts whose work focuses on the protection of fundamental rights in Europe, be it in academia, on European or national levels, in policy, capacity-building or research.
