For the third and last time, our second Fellow group will come together for a three-day virtual exchange from 2 to 4 June.

For the last Fellow Exchange Meeting of this academic year, we have once again prepared a varied programme with interesting guests:

We are looking forward to a discussion with the Franco-German journalist Géraldine Schwarz about a critical approach to the European past and why this is important for our democracy. Based on her family history, Géraldine Schwarz has discussed this question in her book "Those who forget".

In addition, our Fellows will discuss the institutional future of the EU with our Academic Director Christoph Möllers.

Our programme partner Democracy Reporting International is of course also involved and prepares a session on the legal responses to the pandemic in the EU. Assessments from 35 experts on the situation in all 27 EU member states have been collected by our colleagues in their latest report "Extraordinary or extralegal responses? Covid-19 and the rule of law in the EU".

On the last day, our Fellows will participate in the second re:constitution seminar on "EU Rule of Law Case-Law" that we jointly organise with RECONNECT and the Rule of Law Working Group at the Democracy Institute of the Central European University. The Fellows will have the opportunity to discuss the recently published study „Respect for the Rule of Law in the Case Law of the European Court of Justice: A Casebook Overview of Key Judgments since the Portuguese Judges Case“ with the authors Dimitry Kochenov and Laurent Pech.
